WBL #2 results and overall standings, etc

Well a bunch of us squandered away another perfectly good Saturday riding our bicycles around for several hours.  Not expecting much of a crowd due to the other rides in area, Jared and I were shocked at the huge turn out.  Always good to ride with friends on a sunny Savannah Saturday.  The riders signed in and were briefed on today's operation and then took to Bull Street like a bunch of Bulls.  All was pleasant and great until the whistle blew at Black Creek.  A gap was instant but a solo victory was not to be . . . as the rolling hills proved to change the dynamics for these flat-landers.  As the lead-out took shape, it was Vince the prince that rode like a bat out of hell to take out the first sprint without ever looking back.  Blain bring da Pain and Greg the powder keg cleaned up the rest of the podium spots.  This set the tone for the day with a lot of planning and cahoots.  As if we were on a pirate ship on the eve of a mutiny with Vince the Prince as our captain everyone was plotting and planning on how to take this ship and the captain down.  The crew manned the front of the lines and held it together as we worked in unison against the wind making our way towards the dreaded Crosswinds sprint.
Like a prisoner wearing leg chains and hand cuffs, our Captain was chained to the ship and the crew was not letting him go let alone out of site.  As Vince the Prince waved his sword at us and dared us, Blain brought the pain to all as he laid down the gauntlet and established a huge 500 meter gap!  Greg kept his finger on the button ready to release his cannons but stayed cool under pressure.  As The ship started to go down and taking the captain Vince the Prince with it, a lead out finally formed in the final witching hour as Blain painfully surged past the 1 k and only had 800 meters left.  The crew suffering from scurvy, dehydration, and cramps was down to 5.  As the crew started to come apart at the 500 meter mark the prince grinned at the crew and let his legs explain why he is the captain of this ship and departed solo attaining an instant gap.  Blain now in pain and seeing the finish line passes the 200 meter mark with a handful of seconds to the Prince.  . . .  In order to show the entire crew why today he is the Captain and no one else, Vince the Prince put his sword into the last Hold out Blain and took the sprint with authority within the last 100 meters.
Greg had enough black powder left in the keg to stay with the Prince for A podium spot as did Joey BRUCE Lee that also crouched like a hidden dragon behind the Prince for a podium spot.
It was shortly after this, that the ship docked at the Zip'n'go GasCo port for some R&R.  The Prince subtly started talking trash as he apologized for not going fast enough!!  It was at this point that the crew came unglued and made vow to take their captain come hell or high water!
The final sprint began on Hwy 80 and was fast pace line with a lot of cat and mouse tactics.  The crew was all over the Prince and he knew it.  Once again the pain train began with Blain as he let his legs do the talking at 600 meters and no one had an answer or come back.  As the crew thrashed their Captain the Prince in the background it was Blain that took the gold in the final sprint winning 15 bucks cash and a medal!  As the Prince raced in anger Vince jumped one last time like a tired stallion he reared, bucked, and kicked but it was not enough cause Greg unleashed his black powder Keg and said sorry captain but it is pay back.
Greg took second and Vince the Prince finished third in the final sprint.
All three won cash and a medal.
